Mission Statement: The Capitol Square Civil Rights Memorial Foundation is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization begun in 2005 to raise funds for and support the design, creation, and installation of a monument to the civil rights movement in Virginia on the grounds of the State Capitol in Richmond, Virginia.  This monument will enhance Capitol Square’s historic and educational aspects by honoring the courage and determination of those Virginians who fought to end state-sanctioned segregation and create a more just and equitable society for all Virginians.

The Capitol Square Civil Rights Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization.
